汽車的控制系統是以高端的電子設備為基礎， 因此電子控制設備的可靠性對整車的可靠性起主導作用。通常，使用環境會影響到電子設備和單元的耐久性以及操作性能。因此，汽車電子元器件的環境可靠性問題成為汽車可靠性的的核心問題之一。
汽車電子產品的應用環境主要有氣候環境、機械環境、化學環境、電磁環境、電氣環境等
